Hooded penitents take part in Holy Week processions in Spain
Christian believers around the world celebrate the Holy Week of Easter marking the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Hundreds of processions take place around the clock in Spain, drawing thousands of visitors. The religious fraternities and brotherhoods are responsible for carrying the statues and organising the penitents and musicians. The clothes and hats worn depict the people from Nazareth. Seville, Malaga and Valladolid which are particularly well known for their Holy Week processions.
